Ron Arad, born in Tel Aviv in 1951, is a pioneering designer and architect known for his innovative use of materials and reimagining of furniture form. Educated at the Jerusalem Academy of Art and the Architectural Association in London, he co-founded One Off in 1981 and later established Ron Arad Associates and Ron Arad Architects. His experimental approach has led to collaborations with major brands like Kartell, Vitra, and Moroso. A former Professor of Design at the Royal College of Art, Arad was awarded the 2011 London Design Week Medal and became a Royal Academician in 2013. His notable public works include Vortext in Seoul and the Kesher Sculpture at Tel Aviv University.
