Grob Gallery has the pleasure to present his new exhibition French Photography, vintage works from the 1920's and the 1960's.
These great vintage works are a testimony to the reality of France between the 1920's and 1960's. A country whose inhabitants had experienced the tragic and traumatic events of the two World Wars and must now rebuild everything : their streets, their economy, their lives.
Despite this harsh reality, photographers like Roger Parris, Willy Ronis, Henri Cartier-Bresson and others, went into the streets of French people and by photographing their everyday life, they show us an image of strong people, full of life, love and optimism.
A woman with a deep strong look, looking at us while breastfeeding her new-born, a father playing with his son, a young couple dancing in the streets at night and many more beautiful photographs that make us forget that these people have lived a really dark period and inspite of it show us an absolutely desire to live.
