Tierney Gearon was thrust into the spot light in 2001 when her work was featured as one of the main photographers in the famed “I Am A Camera” exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery in London. Gearon’s photographs of her own children, here entitled as “Naked & Hidden Children”, in which she photographed them naked yet wearing masks, became an overnight sensation and came under public scrutiny. Since this controversial debut, Gearon has pushed the envelope of contemporary photography, challenging the notion of comfort in society.
